This male makeup artist shut down homophobic comments about his dad perfectly
A gay makeup artist has shut down homophobic comments perfectly with the help of his dad.
Gutierrez took to twitter to celebrate his success, and his following has since grown.
Along with a positive reaction, Manny has had to deal with negative comments from the likes of Matt Walsh, a conservative blogger.
Walsh tweeted a picture of Gutierrez alongside the caption “Dads, this is why you need to be there to raise your sons.”
*Eyeroll*, we know, but Gutierrez had the best reaction when he tweeted back with the classy knock down: “My dad actually works for me and is SO Proud of me”.
Gutierrez’s father also joined in on the battle when he texted his son to send a message of pride and love to Walsh.
Gutierrez’s father wrote: “This is Manny Sr. Let me first begin by telling you that I’ve always been there for my son and will ALWAYS be there for him. Not only am I proud of what he has accomplished but I’m more proud of the person he has become. I know the words you speak are from lack of knowing anybody from the LGBT community.
“If you did, you would soon realise they are some of the most real and kind hearted individuals that walk this planet of ours. Going forward, I would choose your actions and words wisely. Just like you would do anything for your family, I would DO for mine. Good day Sir,” he finished.
Gutierrez was recently announced The Ultimate Influencer at the Ones To Watch Party.
Following his win, he spoke to People and explained that despite making all this progress, it can still be hard to remain confident.
“I’ve gone through all of it, I’ve literally heard every single name in the book be told to me,” he recalled. “So don’t be discouraged by anyone, as long as you’re confident in yourself and just keep doing what you’re doing.”
