Kelly Rowland says people should ask if their partners have had ‘past gay experiences’
Former Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland has spoken out on bisexuality, saying people should ask their partners if they have had a “past gay experience”.
The star is promoting Lifetime’s ‘Love by the 10th Date’, a film about celibacy, open marriages and bisexuality.
Speaking to the New York Post, she says: “There are some women who are not finding the real truth about their partner’s sexuality until they go through their man’s phones.
“But it happens with guys too, not just women. I can’t tell someone how to feel about dating someone who is bisexual or had a past gay experience, but it’s proper to ask in today’s times,” she adds.
Of open marriages, she says: “None of my girlfriends that I know of have open relationships,” she says.
“But Mo’Nique has the biggest smile on her face and seems happy. I just feel like I’m not in any position to judge anybody. We’re in a new time and space where sexuality should be talked about — whether you want to be with two people or three.”

Rowland was previously involved in an MTV campaign to encourage young people to be better informed about sexual health.
Young people were encouraged to talk openly about their sexual experiences in an innovative scheme aimed at reducing the stigma that surrounds sexual health.
Amber Rose earlier this month said she would date men or women, but that she would rule out romance with a bisexual guy.
