This grandma had the most adorable reaction to her granddaughter coming out
A grandma had the most adorable reaction after her granddaughter came out to her as bisexual.
User sunatjexd, real name Suna Huls, posted a picture on Tumblr of her grandma holding a rainbow knitted jumper – a gift for the user after she came out as bisexual to her grandma.
A twitter user picked up on the heart-warming picture and tweeted about it. The tweet has since received hundreds of thousands of retweets.
Huls told PinkNews that she was “overwhelmed” by the reaction.
“I was kind off overwhelmed. I had no idea it was going get so much attention. I was also happy, because I got to show the world how amazing my grandma is.”
Huls phoned her grandma, Marry, on Friday to tell her about her new found Internet fame, and the news came as a happy surprise.
“I called her on Friday and told her she is Internet famous. It made me so happy to hear her laugh. I haven’t heard her laugh like that in a while.”
Huls explained that she had lost her mother, her Grandma’s daughter, in August and they were having a hard time.
“This just makes her feel loved and happy.
“I had no idea how she was going to react. But I knew she loved me very much and I kinda expected her to be supportive, because my grandma loves everybody.
“I had to explain to her what it meant though. She doesn’t really know much about the LGBTQ community,” she added.
Knitting is the grandma’s favourite past time too, she can even “do it with her eyes closed,” explained Huls.
“She knits jumpers, socks, beanies, gloves, etc for people in poor countries. A few times a year she sends them to those countries and start making more. She is such a sweetheart.”
Because the post went so viral, Huls has now been outed to her entire family. “It’s an epic way to do it. It turned out better than I thought.”
“I am really happy. I can finally be myself.”
People cannot get over how adorable the Grandma is, with many saying that they want to keep her as their own.
Many more said they hope to be as loving and accepting as her when they become grandmas.
Other grandmas’ also responded – with one saying she cannot match her knitting skills but would buy a rainbow tee instead!
