Dating app Hornet attacks President Trump’s Muslim ban
One of the world’s leading gay dating apps has criticised President Trump’s immigration policy.
Hornet have sent a message to users clarifying its support for Muslims and immigrants to the US.
“Hornet stands in solidarity with immigrants and muslims around the world,” the message said.
“We have strived to create a global community that celebrates diversity and transcends walls or borders.
“We are committed to and will fight for the human rights of all.”
An executive order signed by the president last week banned refugees from Iraq, Iran, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya and Yemen from entering the United States for the next three months.
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan also spoke out against the ban, labelling it “ignorant”.
Hornet claims to be the biggest gay dating app in a number of countries.
It’s most popular in France, Russia, Brazil, Taiwan and Turkey, which has a large muslim population.
The message linked to the American Civil Liberties Union Know Your Rights page and ended with the hashtag #NoBanNoWall.
