Trump’s White House ‘dress code’ means female staff need to ‘dress like women’
Donald Trump has imposed a strict dress code that means female staffers need to “dress like women”, it has been claimed.
According to political site Axios, the new President is obsessed with how everyone in the White House looks.
Gaining information from a number of sources, the site claims that Trump likes “the women who work for him ‘to dress like women’.”
Its source added that this made women working in field offices and knocking on doors, pressured to wear dresses in order to impress the billionaire.
Men are also judged on their appearance, another source claimed.
“If you’re going to be a public person for him, whether it;s a lawyer or representing him in meetings, then you need to have a certain look,” they said.
“Preferably, I would say, solid colours…you should have a good physical demeanour, good stature, hair well groomed.”
Apparently, the 45th President also pays very close attention to ties, with one source claiming “you’re always supposed to wear a tie”.
“Trump prefers wider, traditional ties,” they said.
“I’ve always been surprised about how Stephen Miller [Trump’s policy advisor] survives with those thin ties.”
Another source also said they knew Mr Trump would be annoyed at Press Secretary Sean Spicer over his first appearance in the Briefing Room.
“Staff knew Trump would be hacked off at press secretary Sean Spicer for not dressing fancy enough for his first Briefing Room appearance,” they said.
“It was like, he had a gap in his collar. I was like, ‘Oh God, he’s going to get reamed.'”
It was revealed last week that Ivanka Trump and her husband helped to block a leaked Executive Order that could have had terrible consequences for the LGBT community.
Recently, a former gay staffer of Trump’s pick for the Supreme Court claimed he called his same-sex marriage “a wonderful thing”.
