Creationist lights up Noah’s Ark permanently to ‘reclaim’ rainbow from gay people
An infamous Creationist theme park in Kentucky has made its lighting up of Noah’s Ark in rainbow colours, to “reclaim” the symbol from homosexuals, permanent.
The Kentucky Ark Encounter park, backed by evangelical anti-LGBT preacher Ken Ham, opened last year, featuring a ‘life-size’ Noah’s Ark complete with “animatronic, live and static” animals.
Ham began lighting the Ark at Christmas as a “treat” and in an attempt to “reclaim” what it truly meant.
However, he has now announced that it will be lit up in rainbow colours permanently to ‘discredit’ its association with the LGBT community.
The park, which took years to construct, previously attracted controversy over the huge tax breaks and state subsidies handed to the organisation, which will only hire people if they sign a ‘statement of faith’ banning homosexual conduct.
Employees at the park have to sign a ‘creation statement’ agreeing that God created the world 6000 years ago, as well as affirming Biblical teachings on ‘sexual morality’ and homosexuality.
On his website, Ham announced that “the Ark is illuminated with rainbow colors in the evening as a testament to the true meaning of the rainbow”.
However, he wants to make crystal clear that it’s not rainbow as in ‘gay’, but rainbow as in ‘God will bring death to sinners’.
Ham wrote: “In recent times the rainbow has come to represent… the LGBTQ movement.
“Indeed when the US Supreme Court legalized gay ‘marriage’ last year, the White House was lit up in rainbow colors.
“Sadly, people ignore what God intended the rainbow to represent and proudly wave rainbow-colored flags in defiance of God’s command and design for marriage.
“Because of this, many Christians shy away from using the rainbow colors. But the rainbow was a symbol of God’s promises before the LGBTQ movement—and will continue to be after that movement has ended.
“As Christians, we need to take the rainbow back and teach our young people its true meaning.”
Ham then prophesied a global catastrophe that will exterminate sinners like gay people.
He wrote: “Although God promised He would never judge the earth with a global Flood again, He is coming to judge sinful mankind a second time. This coming judgment won’t be with water but with fire.”
In the same global catastrophe vain, a religious leader in Australia has claimed if the country legalise equal marriage it will destroy the Earth.
