School sends most awkward letter ever after kid invents friend called ‘Wildo the Dildo’
A school was forced to send a hilariously awkward letter, after a child chose a pretty remarkable name for his imaginary friend.
The childās father found out about his sonās nickname after the school sent a letter home.
Paul Hunt, 38, was shocked to find the letter explaining his sonās odd name for an imaginary friend.
His 10-year-old son had invented the friend at school, the letter said.
While the school, in Somerset, England, said they had no problem with imaginary friends and thought it was creative ā the name was more of an issue.
The school asked Mr Hunt if he could encourage his son to refrain from shouting out āWildo the Dildoā, the name of his imaginary pal.
The surprised school confirmed that the child had not known the meaning of the word ādildoā.
The children promised not to use the word again.
He posted the letter to social media, where itās now been seen thousands of times.
The boyās father, a software engineer, said: āWe were already aware of what had happened because heād told us about it the previous day.
āWe were surprised to receive a letter about it though.ā
He said they didnāt discuss it with him further and added: āHe had no idea what the word meant.
āHe was mortified that heād used it and was not going to use it again anyway so there was no need for a conversation.
āWe were surprised that the teachers had thought it necessary to write the letter at all, let alone be explicit about what the word was.
āSo yes we certainly did have a good laugh about it.ā
