A former RuPaul’s drag race contestant has been arrested on drug possession charges.

Nicole Paige Brooks (Brian Christopher Pryor) was stopped while driving with William Corbett, a promoter for gay clubs, because the car they were driving had a light issue.

The season two contestant was pulled over by Atlanta police 51 bags of marijuana, cocaine, xanax, oxycodone, amphetamines, hydrocodone.

Other prescription bottles and compartments were found to have drugs stashed inside of them in the car.

Te pair were also carrying $647 in cash and paraphernalia alongside the large stash of drugs.

Police determined the money was related to the drugs. In the incident report, Officer J.A. foster wrote “due to the presence of drugs and the manner in which they were stored and transported I determined the money was related.”

Police reportedly became suspicious when they noticed “an overwhelming odour of green marijuana emitting from inside of the vehicle”.

When pulled over, the officer reportedly asked for Brooks and Harkins to step out of the car. Harkins refused, and Brooks showed the officer a small amount of weed.

Everything was seized and the two were released from jail on a $4000 bond for Brooks and $30,000 for Harkins.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of December 12th last year, has raised a civil case which is set to be heard on March the 27th. Prosecutors claim that the $647 is cash was wrongfully seized, despite court documents saying it “was found in close proximity to marijuana, cocaine and pills” and were “proceeds” from sales.

Brooks faces a felony charge of cocaine possession, as well as misdemeanour charges of possession of marijuana and a tag light violation.

Harkins faces five serious felony charges including drug trafficking, possession or sale of marijuana as well as three other charges of possession of a substance.

Commenting on the charges, Brooks said: “There are more important things to talk about than me being stopped in a traffic stop in Marietta.”
