George Michael to remain unburied 13 weeks due to drug tests
George Michael’s body is to remain unburied for weeks more.
Toxicology tests have been badly held-up on the star’s body, meaning loved ones face a longer wait to bury him.
It’s expected to be another four weeks before conclusions of the tests can be drawn and the funeral take place.
That’ll make it 13 weeks since the Wham! singer passed away on Christmas Day 2016.
The reasons for the hold-up is not publicly known, but it’s expected the funeral will include loved ones and famous friends.
Adele recently wept as she paid tribute to the star.
A family source told The Sun: “Everyone is upset and mystified by the delay.
“They just don’t understand why it is taking so long.
“It is really upsetting that George is still lying in the morgue when people want to say goodbye to him.”
It comes after loved ones broke into a row about the funeral arrangements.
It’s been reported that his boyfriend, Fadi Fawaz, has been banned from the funeral.
The Wham! star’s cousin, Andros Georgiou, claims that Fawaz will not be allowed to attend because the Michael family “hate him”.
Georgiou blasted the late singer’s boyfriend, saying: “Fadi has not been invited to the funeral.
“He is not welcome, the family hate him. Heaven help him if he turned up.
“Fadi was not really his boyfriend. No one has spoken to him and he just seems to be getting on with his life. It makes my stomach turn.”
Police are still treating the death as unexplained but non-suspicious
Authorities are now also investigating how Fadi Fawaz’s 999 call came to be leaked.
