Adele sends drag queen fan into ‘the most insane tail spin’ on stage
Adele has given another drag queen the night of their lives, inviting them up on stage to sing a duet with her.
Yesterday, in front of 65,000 screaming fans at her first Australian concert, she asked an audience member to join her – only to discover they had more in common than she thought.
“I impersonate you professionally for a job,” drag queen DJ Feminem told Adele as they met on stage, leading the amazed performer to respond: “Shut up.”
DJ Feminem then wowed the Domain Stadium in Perth, Western Australia, by belting out a couple of lines from Adele’s hit song Rumour Has It, off the album 21.
Adele told her doppelganger: “Why didn’t you tell me I had such a sweaty face?! You look better than me…that’s not allowed!”
After the concert, DJ Feminem wrote on her Facebook page: “Adele you have sent my world into the most insane tail spin I’ve ever experienced!”
On Twitter, she added: “As you can imagine I have been absolutely overwhelmed by what happened last night!”
The Oscar and Grammy award-winning singer has a habit of asking starstruck fans to join her for the once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The 28-year-old star from north London asked drag artist Kristie Champagne (real name Kristopher Zello) to join her while performing in Seattle in July.
Adele said she was “speechless,” gushing to Kristie: “You look so amazing! Oh my god. I actually really love that dress.”
In response, her impersonator said: “You seriously changed my life for the better. Dreams do come true.”
Adele also invited two dads and their baby on stage during a concert in Toronto in October.
Jon and Steve from New York had attended the Toronto concert with their baby, Jackson, and were called out by the superstar to come up on stage.
While offering a hug to the pair, she left every laughing as she quipped that Jackson was “suffocating in my boobs”.
