Lady Gaga set to headline both weekends at Coachella as Beyonce postpones
Lady Gaga is set to headline both weekends of Coachella, it has been reported, after Beyonce postponed her performance until 2018.
Gaga will perform a “huge stage production” at the Empire Polo Grounds for Coachella 2017, Billboard reports.
The star takes to both weekends on as Beyonce announced that she was postponing her performance until 2018 on her doctor’s advice, as she is pregnant with twins.
Billboard reports that sources say an official announcement will be made in the coming days to confirm Gaga’s appearance.
Gaga adds the second performance to her already busy touring schedule, after performing at this year’s Super Bowl in Houston, Texas.
Gaga and Britney Spears were among 140 artists to sign a letter to Texas saying they were against the measure.
In place of Beyonce, Gaga will be the first female artist to headline at Coachella since Bjork did back in 2007.
She performs alongside acts like Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead.
Gaga performed at the Super Bowl last month, as some noted she made subtle political statements with her set.
Gaga last December vowed to stand up for progress on LGBT rights under the Trump administration.
She also staged a protest in a huge truck outside Trump tower, as he was announced as having won the US election to become President.
Meanwhile, despite apparently being banned from making any political statements at the event, Donald Trump’s favourite conspiracy theorist claimed that the Super Bowl halftime show was actually a magic ritual to make Lady Gaga a “Goddess of Satan”.
