One Million Moms furious about gay kissing in Disney cartoon they definitely didn’t watch

Remember last week we told you pretty much no-one noticed lots of gay kissing in a Disney cartoon? Well, we may have ruined that with our report.

Disney XD cartoon Star vs. the Forces of Evil featured the subtle moment in an episode last week, as main character Star is left lovesick during a slow dance at a concert.

A number of the couples in the background were shown enjoying a quick peck, including a few same-sex couples.

At the time we confidently informed you that the moment was so subtle that no one had picked up on it for days, and it even escaped the notice of America’s puritanical self-appointed TV censors, One Million Moms.

However, after waking up from their presumably week-long nap, the dedicated PinkNews readers at 1MM are predictably angry.

In a call to arms today, they belateldy hit out at the cartoon, accusing Disney of “pushing an LGBT agenda on families and children” and threatening to boycott Disney “unless they produce family-friendly entertainment”.

They wrote: “Alerting all parents! In a first for the Disney Channel, a Disney XD show subtly displayed several gay kisses in an episode that aired a couple of days ago.

“This is the last place parents would expect their children to be confronted with content regarding sexual orientation. Issues of this nature are being introduced too early and too soon, and it is becoming extremely common and unnecessary.

“Disney has decided to be politically correct versus providing family-friendly entertainment.

“Disney has been under pressure from the gay community to portray openly gay relationships in its TV shows and movies.”

Handily borrowing factoids from our original report, they recalled: “Though this is the first on-screen same sex PDA, Disney has included a homosexual relationship in its TV show Good Luck Charlie.”

Their release also noted that the upcoming live-action remake of Beauty in the Beast will feature a gay character. That news was exclusively reported in Attitude Magazine, which presumably 1MM are also loyal readers of.
