Adele confirms rumours that she married her long-term partner Simon Konecki
Adele has confirmed rumours that she has married her long-term partner.
Speaking at the Grammys, the star mentioned her “husband” while accepting an award.
But having made no further mention of it, her fans went into meltdown, speculating about whether she had married Simon Konecki.
But performing in Brisbane on Sunday, on introducing ‘Someone Like You’, she did indeed confirm that they are now married.
“That feeling when you first fall for someone is the best feeling on earth,” she began.
“And I am addicted to that feeling. Obviously, I can’t go through with those feelings because I’m married now. I’ve found my next person.”
The couple have been together for five years and have a son named Angelo.
Earlier this month, the singer addressed abuse she received when she was compared to Princess Fiona from Shrek.
When talking at a gig in Perth, she addressed the abuse she got over the dress, which was designed by Riccardo Tisci.
“I don’t f*cking care. It was Givenchy Couture! They can say what they want,” she exclaimed to the crowd of 65,000.
The singer, who picked up five Grammys at the awards, went on to speak about how hard she worked to look good for the show.
“Before the Grammys I had this dress right, I wore this green dress, everyone said I looked like Fiona from Shrek.
“I worked out. Obviously I’m a large lady and I like eating food very much, but I was working out twice a day to fit into that Givenchy dress because it was quite tight,” she added.
The singer has been a champion for LGBT people, and during the same Perth show she invited a drag queen who impersonates Adele onto stage.
DJ Feminem wrote on Facebook after appearing on stage: “Adele you have sent my world into the most insane tail spin I’ve ever experienced!
“As you can imagine I have been absolutely overwhelmed by what happened last night!”
The 28-year-old star from north London asked drag artist Kristie Champagne (real name Kristopher Zello) to join her while performing in Seattle last year.
Adele said she was “speechless,” gushing to Kristie: “You look so amazing! Oh my god. I actually really love that dress.”
The impersonator retorted: “You seriously changed my life for the better. Dreams do come true.”
Adele also invited two dads and their baby on stage during a concert in Toronto in October.
Jon and Steve from New York had attended the Toronto concert with their baby, Jackson, and were called out by the superstar to come up on stage.
While offering a hug to the pair, she left every laughing as she quipped that Jackson was “suffocating in my boobs”.
