This is everything you need to know about the Steps reunion
The world of pop has just delivered some very exciting news.
This not a drill – the icons that are Steps have announced a reunion!
And they’re not just coming back with the old classics, but with a whole new material.
The pop group, comprised of Lee Latchford-Evans, Ian ‘H’ Watkins, Claire Richards, Lisa Scott-Lee and Faye Tozer, will hit the road in November to celebrate their 20th anniversary.
There are high expectations for the new material, with songwriters who have written for One Direction, Little Mix and Years & Years on board.
In fact none other than Abba’s Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus have written their first original song of the reunion.
Story of a Heart is expected to be released this Friday, with a studio album coming up soon.
Lisa Scott-Lee told The Sun: “We’ve always had that comparison with Abba so it’s amazing to work with Benny and Bjorn.
“When we heard the special album track they gave to us we said, ‘that’s perfect’.
“It’s a bridge to where we were and it moves on nicely to where we’re taking the new music.”
And as if the new stuff isn’t exciting enough, they’re going to be joined on the road by none other than the VegaBoys on their national tour.
Steps said: “This is the album we think our fans have been waiting for. It was very important for us to have a hint of the past but to try to blend it into modern day music.
“We think Steps are a little bit of what everyone needs right now.
“We can’t wait to take the new album plus all our favourite hits out on the road.”
It’s official… #20YearsOfSteps
