Elton John helped teach Princes William and Harry about gay relationships when they were young
Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell has revealed that Elton John taught Prince William and Harry about gay relationships when they were younger.
Burrell said that the young Prince William asked about Sir Elton and David’s relationship when he noticed they were wearing wedding rings.
The incident sparked a tender reaction from the Princess and her long time friend.
“Diana told the boys Elton and David lived together like a man and woman – that they shared a deep love ,” Burrell explained.
“It was incredible to witness the education of William in this way. Elton himself had helped Diana understand the world of HIV and AIDS and how the Princess could help bring greater compassion and understanding to those who were suffering.”
The gay butler, who recently hit headlines for allegedly “having a gay orgy” on the Queen’s yacht, explained that Sir Elton and Princess Diana helped educate each other.
Burrell said: “Elton gave Diana an education at a time when it was frowned upon to even shake the hand of someone who had either HIV and AIDS.
“Diana did this because she cared. She surrounded herself with people who were like-minded and who she was comfortable with.”
Burrell added that the princess became friends with the musician, as well as George Michael and David Furnish, because they were all “kind” and wanted to see change.
“Elton John, David Furnish and George Michael became confidantes. It wasn’t because they were gay, it was because they were good, kind human beings like her and wanted to make a difference in the world,” Burrell said.
