George Michael’s family have apologised to his boyfriend as the star is buried
The late George Michael’s boyfriend, Fadi Fawaz, has recieved an apology from the star’s family,
Press reports had said the family tried to ban him from the burial amid an acrimonious grieving process.
Fadi Fawaz had previously said he knew nothing about the funeral, after the family excluded him from all discussions.
He received no invitation or news of the burial as of last week, as the star is thought to have been buried either yesterday or in the coming days.
He’s now posted online “Finally something nice x.” as he received a letter from a family member of Michael.
The letter read: “We can clearly see from this photo the love that George had for Fadi, sorry to say that some of us including myself were judgemental and maybe cruel to George’s lover Fadi and that surely must upset George’s soul very much.
“We are all different, every one of us grieves differently.
“Some go into shock some into disbelief and others into denial, our cruel comments and hurtful feelings and thoughts towards Fadi did not help him to grieve peacefully, and from day one if George could see what Fadi went through emotionally from the newspapers or the social media he would have come back to right the wrong.
“Fadi: sometimes a genuine apology, a heartfelt ‘I AM SORRY’ can change everything and start to mend the deepest wounds. ‘I AM SORRY’ grieve in peace.”
Details of the singer’s £105m will have begun to emerge, with a very generous gift to his sister.
It comes after the body remained unburied for three months since his Christmas Day death.
The Wham! star’s cousin, Andros Georgiou, had said that Fawaz is banned from attending the funeral because the Michael family “hate him”.
Georgiou said: “Fadi has not been invited to the funeral.
“He is not welcome, the family hate him. Heaven help him if he turned up.
“Fadi was not really his boyfriend. No one has spoken to him and he just seems to be getting on with his life. It makes my stomach turn.”
Tests confirmed that George Michael died from “natural causes” last week.
According to a coroner, his death was caused by dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver.
Fawaz posted an emotional update online after the star’s cause of death was confirmed, saying the past three months as a “cruel” experience.
He posted “F*** YOU” on hearing the news of the coroner’s report.
Adding: “All the nasty comments, press and 999 were very cruel and unnecessary whatsoever, Now I hope to receive some real LOVE x”
Since his death, dozens of people have opened up about the singer’s extraordinary generosity and anonymous philanthropy, donating millions to good causes without revealing his identity.
