Grindr launches custom gay emojis and they’re as filthy as you’d expect
Grindr has launched its own range of emojis ā and theyāre exactly as filthy as youād expect.
The popular hook-up app pushed an update this week that added support for the custom character sets, a lot of which allude to Grindr-specific lingo.
For instance you can send a ātop bunkā or ābottom bunkā, and thereās various symbols like ācan/canāt hostā and ācan/canāt travelā.
But it doesnāt end there ā predictably for anyone whoās used Grindr, thereās a lot of eggplants.
Black eggplants, white eggplants, small eggplants, long eggplants, pierced eggplantsā¦ some men just really like eggplant, we guess.
Other emojis made for the app cater to fetishists, with everything from feet to ball gags available.
But that doesnāt mean itās all R-rated. The app includes a number of diverse characters including a ton of variants of same-sex families.
Are you an interracial couple with a dog? Grindrās got you covered.
The new symbols arenāt without controversy though. Users have suggested that some of the custom symbols available in the app include apparent coded references to drug use.
Grindrās new emoji keyboard includes a capital T, which is slang for meth. Thatāsā¦boldly nonjudgmental, I guess? pic.twitter.com/HD6HvX5K01

Grindr recently appointed an official poet-in-residence.
As Grindrās poet, Max Wallis will craft a video poem every month that will reportedly be pushed to app users.
The poet said: āPoetry and sex have a long and venerable history, one often being used in the service of setting up the otherā¦ the truth is, there is no āproperā subject for poetry. All of life is its subject. Nothing should be out of bounds.
āThe poems play on the essential themes of the app ā relationships, our increasingly unsympathetic world and quite a lot of sex.ā
