SNL just reimagined THAT Pepsi advert and it is brutal
Saturday Night Live has done what it does best and absolutely ruined Pepsi for a controversial advert the company released this week.
The tone deaf advert in question starred Kendall Jenner marching in a protest and handing a police officer a can of Pepsi in an act of āsolidarityā.
The advert, which has since been pulled, had everybody in disbelief about how it came to be.
SNLās Beck Bennett and Kylle Mooney decided to answer that question by showing the ad from the perspective of the director, and it is brutally hilarious.
The sketch kicks off with Beckett in the director chair getting a call from his sister.
The call comes just moment before shooting begins, and while on the phone his sister he explains the ābrilliantā ad plot.
āIsnāt that like, the best ad ever?ā he asked.
We then only hear his side of the conversation: āUh-huh, sort of tone deaf?ā he said.
The director then asks to be put onto Doug for a second opinion, who also has some undoubtedly negative feedback on the pitch.
The director asks for a third opinion from a āblack neighbourā.
Heās heard saying: āSo, the whole thing is an homage on black lives matter. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Donāt even touch it? It would be insane to touch it, right? Okay. Donāt even show police?ā
āWhat would you do if you were in my situation? Just run to my car? Okay.ā
Despite wanting to pull out at the last moment the advert begins shooting as Kendall Jenner is called from her trailer.
Sheās seen walking to the scene on the phone: āI stop the police from shooting people by handing them a Pepsi? I know, itās cute, right?ā
The American comedy show has become a favourite, with notable sketches including Melissa McCarthyās impression of Sean Spicer and Kate McKinnonās Kellyanne āCough Legsā Conway.
Alec Baldwin has also appeared on the show doing a killer impression of Donald Trump a number of times, and you just have to check out McKinnonās version of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
