Orange is the New Black season 5 trailer will whet your appetite
Orange is the New Black is nearly back with season five, and Netflix has released a trailer to whet fans’ appetites.
Season 5 promises to be an explosive one, with the show left on on a cliffhanger as the pregnant Daya points a gun at prison officer Humphrey – and a gunshot is heard.
Would YOU survive an Orange is the New Black prison riot?
The Netflix show will be back on our laptop and TV screens on June 9, picking up exactly where it left off.
The new trailer recaps the last, incredibly tense minute of season four, which sees prisoners gathered around Daya and Humphrey, with many urging her to pull the trigger.
Alex and Piper hang back from getting involved in the riot sparked by Poussey Washington’s death at the hands of an officer, eventually leaving the scene entirely as even more prisoners arrive.
According to Danielle Brooks, who plays Taystee, season five will only span three days.
But the Netflix release will be “very detailed” and ” very intense,” she said, with all episodes taking place in real time.
Last year, Samira Wiley, who played Poussey, announced her engagement to one of the show’s writers, Lauren Morelli.
Their wedding last month was a beautiful, intimate ceremony with a theme of confetti.
The multi-award winning show has grown from strength to strength over the years and increased the cast to include well-known LGBT celebrities such as Ruby Rose.
And these stars have captured fans’ hearts via social media by befriending each other, celebrating Pride and travelling together.
