Kim Kardashian hits out at ‘untruthful’ stepmother Caitlyn Jenner on Ellen
Kim Kardashian has lashed out her former stepmother Caitlyn Jenner.
Reality star Kim K was appearing on the Ellen Show when she was asked about Caitlyn Jenner, who was married to her mother Kris Jenner before coming out as trans.
In the interview Kim reacted to Caitlyn Jennerās upcoming book, a ātell-allā that discusses her transition to female.
In her frequent media appearances to promote the book, Jenner has been harshly critical about her ex-wifeās struggles to accept her transition. On Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kris Jenner trashed the book as āmade upā.
Speaking to Ellen, Kim Kardashian said: āMy heart breaks for my mom, you know? I feel like sheās been through so much and [Caitlyn]ās promoting this book and sheās saying all these things.
āI donāt think itās necessary and I just feel like itās unfair, things arenāt truthful.ā
She continued: āSheās not being honest] about some thing about my mom, and other things. I feel like itās taken her a really long time to be honest with herself, but itās just so hurtful. I wish her all the success in the world, but not at our expense.ā
Asked if the family still have a relationship with Jenner, she said: āFor Kendall and Kylie, thatās their dad.
āMy momās been so respectful for so long, always wanting Caitlyn around and always wanting a great relationship with Caitlyn, butā¦ I havenāt talked to her in a couple weeks.
āIāll always love her. That was my stepdad for so many years. She taught me about character growing up, and I just feel like I donāt respect the character sheās showing now.ā
Kim continued:
āIāll always have a major love for her for who she was in my life.
āI want to be respectful, but I feel thereās no need for a book bashing other people. I think itās not tasteful.ā
The choice of the Ellen Show for the interview is interesting, given Caitlyn Jenner claimed in her book that she was āalienatedā by Ellen DeGeneres over her stance on same-sex marriage.
Jenner wrote: āI believed, as anyone would, that that was exactly what she wanted to talk about ā my progression in terms of changing attitude over the years.
āThis discussion further alienated me from members of the LGBTQ community.
āEllenās appearance on The Howard Stern Show, where in my mind she even more emphatically took what I said out of context, made it go viral.ā
Jenner told Ellen in 2015: āI have to admit ā I remember 10 years ago, 15 years ago, whenever the whole gay marriage issue came up ā at first I was not for it,ā she said to DeGeneres.
āIām a traditionalist. Iām older than most people in your audience.
āI, kind of, like tradition and itās always been a man and a woman.
āI was thinking, āI donāt quite get itā. But as time has gone on ā I think like a lot of people on this issue ā Iāve really changed my thinking.
āI donāt ever want to stand in front of anyoneās happiness.ā
Jenner transitioned two years ago, revealing her new look on the cover of Vanity Fair.
She became a huge hit and was celebrated for the bravery of going through the experience so publicly.
However her TV series, I Am Cait, flopped in its second season, following a string of positive comments about the Republicans and Donald Trump that alienated some of her core fans.
Jenner had originally offered herself as a trans ambassador for the Trump administration.
Her adoration for Trump did not last, however.
When the president repealed an Obama era protection for trans people using the bathroom, Jenner hit out at Trump, writing: āFrom one Republican to another, this is a disaster.
āYou made a promise to protect the LGBTQ community. Call me.ā
