Big Bang Theory co-star Mayim Bialik celebrates Jim Parsons wedding to Todd Spiewak
Big Bang Theory star Jim Parson has married his long-term boyfriend Todd Spiewak in a beautiful ceremony – and his co-stars are delighted.
Mayim Bialik, who plays Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler on the sitcom, has paid tribute to the happy couple.
She revealed that none of the guests at the New York wedding used their phones, saying that: “Everyone was so present”.
Parsons is the highest-paid gay actor in the world earning an estimated $1 million per episode of The Big Bang Theory.
Taking to Instagram, Bialik said: “What a wedding. Not a cell phone in sight.
“Everyone was so present which sounds pretentious but it was truly powerful for us all to just want to be there fully.
“Todd and @therealjimparsons, you are so loved,” she wrote, attaching a photo of the couple holding hands on their big day.
She also said that the ceremony’s chuppah – a canopy under which a Jewish couple stand during nuptials – was “hands down, prettiest chupah ever. Seriously. #chupahlove #yourlove.”
The glamorous wedding ceremony was conducted in the Rainbow Room, a New York landmark in the Rockefeller Plaza.
The star shared photos from the big event on his Instagram, writing: “5.13.17 ❤️Rainbow Room, NYC”, adding “more pics to come”.
Writing on Instagram, he added: “Reception, first dance… (have to say thank you to #anniepsaltiras who was supposed to just be a guest but worked really hard to help us get the @tomford tuxes we loved so much AND she tied the bow ties of several guests that night. Annie is a champ and we love her ) photos by @ambergressphotography (why can’t I figure out how to tag @melissamcneeley and @doan_ly ??? Oh yeah, cuz I’m old.”
His wedding to the graphic designer came just days after a season finale of The Big Bang Theory in which Sheldon proposed to his girlfriend Amy.
While Parsons has been together with Spiewak for 14 years, the actor only came out in 2012, when a New York Times writer outed him.
The actor, who plays Sheldon Cooper on the show – which was renewed for seasons 11 and 12 earlier this year – prefers to keep his private life to himself.
Last year Parsons posted a celebration of his 14th anniversary with Spiewak – posting a very sweet message.
The 44-year-old wrote: “I met this guy (the one with the mic) 14 years ago today and it was the best thing that ever happened to me, no contest.
“One of his greatest gifts to me is that he no longer takes me to sing karaoke.
“Also, I believe this was a selfie with an actual camera, as our phones couldn’t do that back then hahaha!”
