George Michael’s ex Fadi Fawaz exposed trying to get tell-all book deal, claims friend
George Michael’s boyfriend has been accused of trying to get a book deal out of his time with the star.
Andros Georgiou, a childhood friend of the celebrity singer, says Fadi Fawaz has been touring book publishers looking for a deal.
He also claims Fawaz, who found the Wham! singer dead at home on Christmas Day, is trying to get his hands on Michael’s £5m London home.
According to the Sun on Sunday, Fawaz is hoping for a lucrative payout for sharing his stories.
But he has been left frustrated after he received an offer of just £50,000 – much less than the million pound settlement Georgiou claims he is hoping for.
Georgiou, 54, told the Sun on Sunday: “Fadi is now seeking a significant pay-out of George’s money, and his attempt has come out of the blue.
“This is not something his family ever imagined they would have to deal with.
“But Fadi has made no secret of how much he wants money.
“It has not gone unnoticed that he has been touting around for a book deal and has spoken to several publishers, who have made offers.
“But while he was expecting to make a million pounds, he’s probably looking at £50,000.
“That is not going to keep up the lavish life he lived alongside George for very long – and I’m sure he can now see his comforts disappearing.”
The childhood friend says it has led him to mount a bid for the Regent’s Park home he shared with the singer.
Fawaz was reportedly banned by from the singer’s wake by the star’s family.
They reportedly refused to let him attend, forcing him to be taken away in a blacked out car before other guests.
Kenny Goss, Michael’s boyfriend of 15 years, prior to Fawaz, said: “I’ve no idea why Fadi would choose to be late.
“I didn’t say anything to him and he didn’t come to the wake.”
In an interview with The Sun, the ex revealed details of the Wham! singer’s troubles behind closed doors.
He said: “I would find drugs and flush everything down the toilet, thinking: ‘If I just get rid of it he won’t get more’.
“He was absent-minded, so would just think he’d lost them.”
Goss also opened up about Michael’s health – claiming he never believed he’d die young.
Speaking of his declining health, he said: “I don’t think George necessarily thought he’d die young, but every time I looked into his eyes I thought, ‘My God, I’m losing you, what is going on?’.
“When I confronted him, he never denied it, never apologised.
“He was hard on me about drinking, because I developed a problem.”
But one former Wham! star is furious at his public confessions.
Shirlie Holliman has now criticised Kenny’s comments, labelling them “hurtful”.
Shirlie, who was introduced to husband Martin Kemp by Goerge Michael, said: “It’s been a very sad week and so hurtful for George Michael’s family, friends and fans, he would appreciate, all that matters is his music.”
She also went on to ‘like’ a string of Twitter posts criticising the gay icon’s ex boyfriend.
