George Michael’s ex boyfriend Kenny Goss reveals his ‘final conversation’ before Wham! star’s death
George Michael’s former boyfriend has revealed his “final conversation” with the late Wham! star.
Kenn Goss, who dated the singer for 15 years until 2009, has shared details of their life in a major interview.
Goss has now revealed he last spoke to his former love George Michael about a month before the star’s death in December, when he checked on his former partner’s own health.
The singer died on Christmas Day 2016 of natural causes, according to a coronor’s report.
Goss had suffered with alcohol addiction for many years.
He told This Morning: “Normally I spoke to George when he was in a good place.
“One of the first things he’d always say to me was ‘Darling, how is your recovery?’”
Kenny continued: “He kept nothing from me and I admire him for that.
“Was he honest with me about drugs?
“He probably wasn’t as honest because he knew how I felt about it.
“That was probably the only area that he wasn’t honest with me about.
“We both had our own issues. We both worried a lot about each other.”
He previously said that drugs “destroyed” their relationship.
In an interview with The Sun, the ex revealed details of the Wham! singer’s troubles behind closed doors.
He said: “I would find drugs and flush everything down the toilet, thinking: ‘If I just get rid of it he won’t get more’.
“He was absent-minded, so would just think he’d lost them.”
But one former Wham! star is furious at his public confessions.
Shirlie Holliman (pictured on the right, above) has now criticised Kenny’s comments, labelling them “hurtful”.
Shirlie, who was introduced to husband Martin Kemp by Goerge Michael, said: “It’s been a very sad week and so hurtful for George Michael’s family, friends and fans, he would appreciate, all that matters is his music.”
She also went on to ‘like’ a string of Twitter posts criticising the gay icon’s ex boyfriend.
it’s just weeks since the singer was buried in Highgate Cemetery in north London in a small ceremony attended by close friends and family.
The resting spot of the late legend, at Highgate cemetery in north London, will not be open to fans.
The grave is positioned in a private area of the London resting place, and will not be accessible to the general public.
A tall barrier was placed around the gravestone after the singer’s funeral service on March 29, blocking the space from view.
His burial plot, in Highgate Cemetry, north London, is next to his late mother.
