Adam Lambert admits to using ‘wine and weed’ to cope with love life battles
Popstar Adam Lambert has opened up about his difficult love life.
The Queen impersonator has revealed that he has used drugs in the past to cope with difficult situations.
Speaking to Flaunt, he confessed to using “wine and weed” to deal with heartache.
“It’s a tricky balance though,” the singer added.
“Too much can push you further into the darkness.”
Lambert had been rumoured to be dating Oscar winner Sam Smith, however this was later debunked.
His last genuine high-profile romance was with was with Finnish entertainment reporter, Sauli Koskinen.
Lambert revealed: “I invest myself so fully into my work that if an outcome doesn’t match my expectations, it hits me very hard,” he admits.
“Being an entertainer, you get kind of obsessive about your journey, your career.
“If you’re driven, which you have to be, you’re constantly looking for the next thing and it’s hard to feel satisfied.
“So I’m starting to challenge myself to appreciate where I’m at in the moment more.”
The former American Idol star has been singing Queen classics including Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are the Champions and Somebody to Love on tour with the band.
Fans had been concerned he was trying to replace the original Freddie Mercury.
Talking to Time Magazine, Lambert made sure that everyone knows that he is not trying to take the place of the late Freddie Mercury.
“At some point every night I talk to the audience about it, like, “I know. I’m not Freddie.
“I’m not trying to replace him. It’s more a celebration of the legacy of the band – that’s the heart of the show.”
