JK Rowling went on an incredible tirade against a misogynistic tweet

JK Rowling has gone on another one of her famous Twitter tirades, and this time it’s taking aim at a misogynist.
The Harry Potter author took aim at the writer John Niven, after he attacked Prime Minister Theresa May.

In a tweet , Niven called May a “whore”.
Rowling quickly responded to Niven and defended women in politics who face degrading insults that have little to do with current events.
“Just unfollowed a man whom I thought was smart and funny, because he called Theresa May a whore,” she began.
“If you can’t disagree with a woman without reaching for all those filthy old insults, screw you and your politics.”
The author, who recently took President Donald Trump to task for lashing out at London Mayor Sadiq Khan, added that she was “sick” of “liberal men” who “act like old-school misogynists”.
“I’m sick of ‘liberal’ men whose mask slips every time a woman displeases them, who reach immediately for crude and humiliating words associated with femaleness”.
Rowling went on to explain that she knew a number of women who had suffered similar abuse for having a public opinion.
“Every woman I know who has dared express an opinion publicly has endured this kind of abuse at least once.
“Rooted in an apparent determination to humiliate or intimidate her on the basis that she is female.
“If you want to know how much fouler it gets if you also happen to be black or gay, ask Diane Abbot or Ruth Davidson,” she added.
The writer finished the tirade by adding that she does not “care” which female politician they were talking about.
“Femaleness is not a design flaw. If your immediate response to a woman who displeases you is to call her a synonym for her vulva, or compare her to a prostitute, then drop the pretence and own it: you’re not a liberal,” she concluded.
Niven did not really address the lecture, but reportedly wrote “My bad x”.
