Nominations are now open for the PinkNews Ad Campaign of the Year Award
PinkNews is looking for the best LGBT-inclusive ad campaigns of the past year.
The PinkNews Awards takes place on 18 October 2017 in London and recognises the achievements of politicians, businesses and community groups that have made a difference to LGBT life in the past twelve months.
The Advertising Campaign of the Year award recognises ad campaigns, big or small, which have been inclusive or representative of LGBT people or issues.
Those shortlisted will be invited to the event, which in the past has been attended by a raft of high-profile guests.
Our PinkNews Awards evening has become one of the most significant LGBT+ events hosted in the UK recognising the contributions of politicians, campaigners, charities, businesses, public sector employers, broadcasters and journalists towards achieving LGBT equality at home and overseas.
At last year’s high-profile event, David Cameron was presented the Ally of the Year Award and Jeremy Corbyn was the keynote speaker. Other speakers included the Education Secretary Justine Greening, the Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott, the Scottish Secretary David Mundell, former SNP Deputy Leader Angus Robertson, Good Morning Britain Presenter Susanna Reid, BBC presenter Victoria Derbyshire, Olympian Tom Bosworth and EastEnders star Danny-Boy Hatchard.
This year’s event will be live streamed on Facebook and the PinkNews website.
A number of high-profile speakers and attendees for this year will be announced shortly.
While some of the awards are decided by a panel of expert judges, our readers will vote on the ad campaign of the year award once a panel shortlists down from those nominated.
This award is about celebrating the positive portrayal of LGBT people in corporate advertising.
