Caitlyn Jenner has been schooled on white privilege in a very awkward YouTube appearance.
The transgender reality star and former Olympic champion was appearing in a discussion streamed live to Katy Perry’s YouTube channel.
Actress Amanda Seales was speaking with Jenner when she confronted Jenner on her reluctance to discuss race.
Alongside Margaret Cho, Van Jones, Sally Kohn, Anna Navarro and Yung Skeeter, the discussion soon turned awkward.
“It’s an insult to me that you’re not listening to what I’m saying,” Seales told Jenner.
“If this is a conversation about having conversations, then we have to be listening to each other.”
She confronted the trans celebrity – saying she couldn’t understand non-white people’s situation due to her white privilege.
“The reason I am so passionate ― and I’m not hostile, I’m passionate ― is because I’ve had such a different experience in this country than you” Seales continued.
“Because as a black woman, the government is so much in my life, and it always has been…
“I think there’s a lot to understand for why people are talking the way they talk about different things.
“I understand why you’re talking the way you’re talking.”

However Caitlyn Jenner hit back, saying she couldn’t understand this disagreement.
Jenner replied: “I just don’t understand, I just said I believe in this country.”
“Yes. You can say that in a way that I cannot,” Seales responded.
“Because you’ve had a different experience. Because this country is here for you.
“This country ain’t here for me in the same way, sis.”
Asked by British newspaper the Guardian if she experiences male privilege, Jenner responded “Yeah! I would agree with that.”
The Trump backer continued: “I know the other side. I’ve been there all my life.
“But I want to use that to my advantage.”
“Some of the criticism that my community has had is that I’m white, I’ve got money, I’m privileged and all that kind of stuff.
“I get that. OK? Can’t do much about being white. Kind of born that way.
“Privileged? Yeah. I’ve worked hard all my life.
“I’ve tried to be as smart as I can and yeah, I’ve been successful from that standpoint.
“And I’m not going to apologise for that.”
Jenner has previously come under considerable criticism for her support of Donald Trump.
Following the decision to officially reverse Obama’s protections, however, she appeared to go off the maverick Republican.
Jenner had originally offered herself as a trans ambassador for the Trump administration.
