Colton Haynes says Hollywood management forced him to date women
Arrow star Colton Haynes has revealed he was forced to date women by Hollywood bosses.
The Hollywood actor told Andy Cohen’s radio show that he was originally forced to act heterosexual.
The 28-year-old, who came out a year ago, said management invented relationships to convince people he wasn’t gay.
The Teen Wolf star says it was all in a bid to disguise his true sexuality.
“I was literally told from the day that I moved to Los Angeles that I could not be gay because I wouldn’t work,” Colton told Sirius XM radio.
“The I was with my management team and team of people that just literally told me I couldn’t be this way.”
“They tried to set me up with girls. I was rumoured to date Lauren Conrad for six months because they were kind of angling a story.”
Haynes, who is now engaged to celebrity florist Jeff Leatham, revealed that he lost his virginity to “a boy and a girl”.
“I’ve never said that before,” Haynes said during the Andy Cohen Live interview.
“The girl was two years older than me, and the guy was, I would say, around 16.
“Everyone participated. It was a real first time. It was exciting.”
However the experiences were on separate occasions, not at the same time, he revealed.
Haynes did not elaborate on which came first, but did reveal he has slept with four women in his life.
The star also revealed his special engagement news in an amazing Instagram post for Valentine’s.
In a statement to E! News, Haynes said: “I’m so blessed and happy for the future and my life together with Jeff.”
In the video, Cher says: “So, I got you babe!” before asking them to take the moment.
“Alright, this is for you, you know what it is, you know what you’re supposed to do now and this is gonna be the best thing ever and you have to call me to tell me how it worked out, alright!”
The star’s manager explained the proposal, saying: “Jeff’s marriage proposal to Colton was incredible, starting with a personalized video message from Cher singing their favorite song ‘I Got You Babe’, followed by video messages from their family members and close friends — including Melanie Griffith, Serena Williams, Ally Maki, and many more.
“After Colton said yes, the proposal continued with a fireworks display set to Bruno Mars’ Marry You as the couple danced in tears.”
Haynes came out as gay last May.
He told EW: “It was a complete shock. I wasn’t ready to be back in the headlines… I should have made a comment or a statement, but I just wasn’t ready.
“I didn’t feel like I owed anyone anything. I think in due time, everyone has to make those decisions when they’re ready, and I wasn’t yet.
“But I felt like I was letting people down by not coming forward with the rest of what I should have said.”
