San Francisco Pride was full of Orange is the New Black and 13 Reasons Why stars and it was amazing
The stars of 13 Reasons Why and Orange is the New Black were out in full force at San Francisco Pride this week.
The best and brightest of Netflix binging were present, as Diane Guerrero (who plays Maritza) and Jackie Cruz (Flaca) from Litchfield rubbed shoulders with Katherine Langford (Hannah).
Practically the entire cast of 13 Reasons Why showed up, including Christian Navarro (Tony), Alisha Boe (Jessica), Brandon Flynn (Justin), Justin Prentice (Bryce), Miles Heizer (Alex) and Michele Selene Ang (Courtney).
Langford, who has uploaded a video of herself singing a beautiful lesbian love song she wrote, also attended last year’s San Francisco Pride with her mum.
Both Orange is the New Black and 13 Reasons Why feature multiple lesbian, gay and bisexual characters, though some of those actors have rarely been seen smiling on screen.
Death and destruction haunt both shows, after all.
But the respective casts put their gloomy plots behind them to let their Pride flags fly, with the 13 Reasons Why actors waving signs reading: “So Many Reasons To Be Proud”.
The Orange is the New Black actors had a sign saying “Rainbow is the New Black”.
And yes, since you’re asking: Samira Wiley (Poussey) was there.
She’s seen here with Jackie Cruz, but her wife, Orange is the New Black writer Lauren Morelli was nearby – naturally.
Fans were…excited.
