Justin Trudeau joined a hug club with a rainbow unicorn called Gary
Canadian Prime Minister is now officially part of the most exclusive club: the hug club.
Everybody’s favourite heartthrob Justin Trudeau was lucky enough to wriggle his way into the exclusive club, and all he had to do was hug a rainbow unicorn.
The rainbow unicorn, Gary the Unicorn, is the CEO of the hug club.
Gary gave PM Trudeau the opportunity to join the club by asking him to give Gary a hug that he’s never had before.
Trudeau explained that he would “give them the biggest, squeeziest hug that I can”.
That hug is the official “Prime Ministers hug”.
The embrace clearly overwhelmed Gary, who pledge to “never wash my sweater again”.
Trudeau joined Gary when he appeared on the Canadian network, CBC Kids.
The video showing Trudeau and Gary embracing has gone viral, and a lot of people are supportive.
One person pointed out that it was important to connect everybody to politics, especially children.
“The most awesome thing about this video is he is making it his mandate to engage children and teens who will someday be voting,” they wrote.
However, some people slammed the PM for “wasting” his time on the show.
One person wrote: “So it’s true, Trudeau doesn’t work. He just wears stupid socks and wastes our money. We elected a child, a three-year-old child.”
“Hey Justin, how about going to the House of Commons once in a while and actually ANSWER questions instead of wasting time with stupid toys and dodging questions for one hour straight with the same pre-made answer,” another person added.
However, some people defended the PM by comparing his use of spare time to US President Donald Trump’s extracurricular activities.
“If a national leader is going to take time to do something other than sit in meetings and make decisions, this beats hateful tweets, or weekend nepotism travel every time,” they said.
Over the weekend, Trudeau marched in Toronto Pride with his wife and children.
The Canadian PM spoke at the event and used it as a chance to promote intersectionality and inclusivity.
