The PinkNews Awards will take place on 18 October 2017.
The event continues to celebrate the contributions of businesses, community groups and politicians towards improving LGBT+ life in the past year.

Some of the categories allow nominations by the public, and nominations are now open, as announced at the PinkNews summer reception in Parliament.
The Parliamentary reception marked the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality.
The event featured speeches by Education Secretary Justine Greening, Leader of the Opposition Jeremy Corbyn, Lord Speaker Norman Fowler and Commons Speaker John Bercow.
It was hosted in the State Rooms, Speaker’s House.

Advertising campaign of the Year
The Advertising Campaign of the Year category notes ad campaigns, small or large, which have featured a positive portrayal of LGBT+ people or LGBT+ life.
Nominated campaigns can include an explicitly Prideful or pro-LGBT+ ad, or one which subtly depicts LGBT+ people living their everyday lives.
These campaigns can be small or large and can include any medium.
Broadcaster of the Year
The Broadcaster of the Year Award celebrates the contribution of individual broadcasters or programmes which help to positively portray or feature LGBT+ life.
Broadcasters and programmes on television or radio will be considered, especially those which have made a special effort to highlight LGBT+ issues or raise the profile of LGBT+ people.
Campaigner of the Year
The Campaigner of the Year is a new award for 2017 – it will celebrate an individual campaigner who may have made a positive change in the form of interesting and innovative campaigns on LGBT+ rights and human rights conditions.
This category’s nominees include individuals who are campaigning for PREP, mental health and disabilities rights, for example, and who have gone above and beyond to raise awareness of a particular issue affecting the LGBT+ community.
Community Group of the Year
The Community Group of the Year Award is given to an organisation or group which is exclusively dedicated to LGBT+ issues or causes.
From university societies to charity fundraising groups, the award recognises the contribution of a community group which have made a considerable effort or dedicated their work specifically to LGBT+ rights.
Peer of the Year
The Peer of the Year Award recognises the contribution of a member of the House of Lords to improving LGBT+ life in the past 12 months.
This can include through individual campaigning on a particular issue.
Member of the Year
The Member of the Year recognises MPs, MSPs or MLAs who have championed LGBT+ rights in the past 12 months.
This can include through individual campaigning on a particular issue, lobbying or through legislation introduced.
