Halsey is releasing a bisexual love song, and it’s brilliant

Halsey has announced that her next single will be a bisexual love song – and fans are extremely excited.
The 22-year-old US singer, who is out as bi, made headlines earlier this year when she revealed Strangers, a haunting break-up duet with Fifth Harmony singer Lauren Jauregui.
She also had the perfect response when her record label asked if she wanted to collaborate with straight singer Katy Perry for the track.

According to Halsey, she said: “I’m not putting an artist on this song unless they’re f***ing gay.”
Halsey has now revealed that the second track she’ll release off the hopeless fountain kingdom album will be Bad At Love, another song about same-sex relationships.
She spends the first verse singing about two of her opposite-sex relationships, then moves on to girls who she’s loved and lost.
“Got a girl with California eyes / And I thought that she could really be the one this time,” she sings.
“Never got the chance to make her mine / Because she fell in love with little thin white lines.”
Halsey then proceeds to recount a secret same-sex relationship.
“London girl with an attitude / We never told no-one, but we look so cute.
“Both got way better things to do / But I always think about it when I’m riding through.”

Her hopeless fountain kingdom album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 last month, making Halsey the first female artist to gain the top spot in 2017.
The first single off the album, Now Or Never, was released with a video which saw Halsey involved in two relationships – one with a man and one with a woman.

Halsey has spoken to Vulture about bi-erasure in the past, saying that “there’s a lot of bisexual rejection in the LGBT community.
“When I’m dating a guy, I’m still bisexual.”
Last month she got embroiled in a war of words with LGBT ally Demi Lovato, after she referenced Lovato’s lyrics when condemning artists for using bisexuality “as a taboo”.

“That narrative is so f***ing damaging to bisexuality and its place in society,” Halsey said.
In response, Lovato tweeted: “You know a song is a hit when people are still talking about the lyrics two years later. #shhhhdonttellyourmother”.
