Carter, known for tracks like Aaronā€™s Party,  spoke about growing up in the entertainment industry while discovering his sexuality.

Just a day after the post, reps confirmed that he had split from girlfriend of one year, Madison Parker.

Carter had previously suggested that he wanted to tie the knot to Parker, who he met through Instagram.

But his spokesperson confirmed to E Online: ā€œAaron and Madison love each other and respect one another dearly.

ā€œIt was a mutual decision and Aaronā€™s personal statement released speaks for itself. Now back to the music.ā€

In his letter, Carter had written: ā€œI grew up in this entertainment industry at a very young age and when I was around 13-years-old I started to find boys and girls attractive.

ā€œThere were years that went by that I thought about it, but it wasnā€™t until I was 17-years-old, after a few relationships with girls, I had an experience with a male that I had an attraction to who I also worked with and grew up with,ā€ he wrote.

He finished the moving post by adding that for him, music has always been a safe haven and has been a tool to help him understand his sexuality.

ā€œTo me, music has always been my temple.

ā€œMusic will ALWAYS be what transcends all of us and myself.

ā€œThe studio has always been my safe haven.

ā€œBut the ultimate goal for me is to be satisfied.

ā€œI never want to be a figure of disappointment,ā€ he wrote.

He finished the post with a quote from Boy George: ā€œThe best quote to sum ā€œIā€™ve never felt as though I didnā€™t belong, I just acted as though I did.ā€ ā€“ Boy George.ā€
