Morrissey has announced a brand new studio album Low in High-School.

The follow-up to 2014’s World Peace is None of Your Business will be released via BMG on November 17, as the self-professed “humasexual” ex-Smiths frontman moves to another new record label.

Low in High-School will be available via Morrissey’s own newly-launched imprint Etienne Records, Manchester Evening News reports.

EVP of BMG Korda Marshall said: “There are not many artists around today that can compare to Morrissey.

“He is an extraordinary talent. He is prodigious, literate, witty, elegant and above all, courageous.

“His lyrics, humour and melodies have influenced many generations. The music on this new landmark record will speak for itself and we are delighted to welcome him to BMG.”

The album was produced by Joe Chiccarelli, having been recorded at La Fabrique Studios in France Ennio Morricone’s Forum Studios in Rome.

Chiccarelli produced World Peace is None of Your Business, which was also recorded at La Fabrique.

Morrissey will support the album with a one-off show at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday November 10, with further tour dates to be announced.

The singer has bounced between record labels since his studio return with You Are The Quarry in 2004, released a massive seven years after its predecessor Maladjusted.

His comeback album was released via Sanctuary, where he stayed for follow-up Ringleader of the Tormentors two years later.

2009’s Years of Refusal was released via Decca and Polydor, and World Peace Is None of Your Business had its ill-fated release on Harvest Records/Capitol.

Morrissey and Harvest fell out over the release of the album, with conflict over ownership of the recordings and the claim from Morrissey’s camp that he had been dropped – denied by the label.

Things came to a head when Morrissey’s band wore T-shirts reading “F**k Harvest” during a 2014 show in Lisbon.

Morrissey released his memoir Autobiography as a Penguin Classic in 2013, and his debut novel List of the Lost in 2015.

There has been much speculation about Morrissey’s sexuality since his days in The Smiths, and his autobiography confirmed relationships with men.

Following its publication, he issued a statement via True to You that read: “Unfortunately, I am not homosexual.

“In technical fact, I am humasexual. I am attracted to humans. But, of course … not many”.
