Wait, did that Game of Thrones character just come out as bi?
This post contains spoilers up to Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 6. Obviously.
An unlikely Game of Thrones character might be pretty much the only LGBT character standing on the show.
Following on from the death of gay knight Loras Tyrell last year and the recent imprisonment of Dornish leader Ellaria Sand, HBOās fantasy show is thin on the ground for LGBT characters.
But the most recent episode took many viewers aback as the wildling Tormund appeared to demonstrate some sexual fluidity.
In the episode, which takes place North of the Wall, the warrior hinted that heās not entirely heterosexual, despite a slow-burning romance with Brienne of Tarth.
Asked how to keep warm in the snowy environment, he explains: āYouāve got to keep moving, thatās the secret. Walkingās good, fightingās better, f**kingās best.ā
When Jon Snow points out that āthereās not a living woman within a hundred miles of hereā Tormund suggestively looks at Gendry, before quipping: āWe have to make do with what weāve got.ā
Later in the episode he also appears to flirt with the Hound, Gregor Clegane.
The Hound asks: āYou want to suck my dick, is that it?ā
The wildling is confused by the slang word ādickā, but when itās explained adds: āAh, dickā¦ I like it.ā
The Hound jokes: āI bet you do.ā
Tormund did not rush to contradict him, though he did confirm his preference for women.
He says: āI have a beauty waiting for me back at Winterfell, if I ever get back there.
āYellow hair, blue eyes, the tallest woman youāve ever seen. Almost as tall as you.ā
He adds: āI want to make babies with her.
āThink of themā¦ great big monsters. Theyād conquer the world.ā
The showās only other surviving LGBT character is Yara Greyjoy, whose future does not look bright after she was taken captive by her evil uncle Euron.
