Global superstar Taylor Swift has used an iconic gay anthem as a key part of Look What You Made Me Do.

Last night, the singer dropped the first single off her new album, reputation.

And the main hook relies heavily on the hit 90s song I’m Too Sexy.

As Taylor uses the chorus to menacingly croon the song’s title, everything but the words is 100 percent based off of Right Said Fred’s club banger.

This isn’t a fan conspiracy, either. The three members of the band – Fred Fairbrass, Richard Fairbrass and Rob Manzoli – all have writing credits on the song.

If you still don’t believe me – and hey, I barely believe me – here’s the audio proof, courtesy of singer Chase Holfelder‏.

The official credits state that the track has “an interpolation of a melody” from I’m Too Sexy, according to NME.

Writing on Twitter, the band expressed its delight with the final version of the song, writing: “Thank you @taylorswift13 ❤️ what a marvellous reinvention!”

People are understandably confused.

Taylor tweeted on Wednesday that she will release reputation on November 10 – a Friday night beneath the stars, if you will.

It will be the 27-year-old’s sixth studio album, and the long-awaited sequel to 1989, which was released in 2014.

Taylor spent three days tweeting one short video per day of a snake uncoiling before making the album announcement.

The videos seem to be playfully addressing vicious accusations which have dogged the Shake It Off singer over the past few years, and fans knew all too well what they were signposting.

Her feuds with Katy Perry – allegedly addressed through 1989 single Bad Blood – as well as Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have hit headlines in recent times.

These grudges have led fans of Kim, Kanye and Katy to pepper her social media account with snake emojis, with the obvious implication that Taylor herself is a snake.

In May, she was one of many celebrities and world leaders to pay tribute to the victims of the Manchester terror attack at an Ariana Grande concert.

The new album will, no doubt, address her relationship with Tom Hiddleston, which was roundly mocked and even seen by some as a publicity stunt.

And even if it doesn’t fulfil our wildest dreams, Taylor is back – and back with style.
