Ellen DeGeneres revealed what she looked like as a teenager and it’s incredible
Ellen DeGeneres is back for a new series of her award winning chat show, Ellen, this week.
The world famous out comedian is returning for her 15th season of the show, and has embraced all things 15 to celebrate.
Taking to Instagram to celebrate the show’s return, Ellen has shared clips of upcoming stars – including dancing with Miley Cyrus on set.
Justin Bieber and Jennifer Aniston even sent their best wishes, or so some carefully mocked up images would suggest.
The 15th season seems a million miles away from Ellen’s past.
The chat show host was a trailblazer in the 90s, revealing her sexuality to the world when it was still highly contentious in America.
In 1997 she appeared on the cover of TIME magazine and gave an interview to the Oprah Winfrey show, opening up about her sexuality.
Before she rose to global fame and bravely came out, Ellen was a just a normal teen like the rest of us.
And it turns out that even includes the same history of awkward, old teen photos.
While many of us might hide away our teen pics, Ellen opted to share hers with more than 47 million Instagram followers.
Ellen wrote: “In honor of Season 15, here’s a photo of me when I was just about 15 (why God, why?!).
“Now I wanna see yours. Post a photo from when you were 15 with #ellen15 and you just might see yourself on my show next week!”
Sharing old photos isn’t all Ellen has been doing to make the world a happier place in the run-up to her new series.
Last week Ellen generously donated a huge amount of her own money to the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
Miley Cyrus, who appears in this week’s episode, also wept as she told Ellen of her donation to the cause.
