Watch Yan and the Great British Bake Off stars sing The Proclaimers – with a special twist
After a year channel hopping and a lot of controversy, the Great British Bake Off is back on our screens.
Tuesday night saw the second episode hit screens, after a combined total of 12 million people were thought to have tuned in to watch the first episode.
While we won’t reveal who was given their marching orders, it’s clear this year’s contestants have a very special bond.
Chuen-Yan, or ‘Yan’ as she is known to friends and, now, Bake Off fans, has become among the most popular of the 2017 batch.
The Honk Kong born baker opened up last night about her family life – revealing she lives with her wife in Enfield, north London.
Bake Off revealed that the happy pair met while playing football some 16 years ago.
Now Yan and her fellow contestants, Julia, 21, and Flo, 71, have shared a video showing just how well they’re getting along.

Ahead of last night’s second episode, Yan wrote: “Getting ready for tonight’s episode like #GBB0 #karaoke @YannyBakes @JChernogorova”
She then attached a video of the three rivals singing a very special Bake Off themed version of The Proclaimers’ 500 miles.

Yan has also been keen to embrace her status as an LGBT baker, quote tweeting a post that read, “Do it for the gays ️ x ” “

This year’s show is airing with its new presenters, feminist lesbian TV host Sandi Toksvig and eccentric comedian Noel Fielding.
Overnight figures for the first episode put viewer figures at 6.5m, which then increased significantly with All 4 viewers, online catch-up and repeats.
Great British Bake Off airs Tuesdays at 8PM on Channel 4.
