Brand new George Michael song to be released within hours
A brand new George Michael song is to be released eight months after the star passed away.
The Wham! star had been working on new material up until his sudden death on Christmas Day 2016.
Now top music legend Nile Rogers says a final song is set to be released as a single.
Sony music announced it was “proudly” presenting the new single.
George’s sisters, Melanie and Yioda, posted an update on his official website, saying they will carry on his musical legacy “exactly as Yog would have wanted”.
Nile Rogers took to Twitter to share his excitement at releasing the new song.
He said it had been a “long heartfelt, tear-filled journey”, adding: “I hope we’ll make the fans proud of the amount of love we put into it.”

Music producer Naughty Boy, real name Shahid Khan, also said the pair had been working together on new material in 2016.
Naughty Boy told The Mirror: “It’s a brand new track, it is amazing.
“It’s a song that he asked me to work with him on and there’s a real chance this single will come out.”
The news will delight fans who have continued to be loyal to the gay performer after his death.
The huge outpouring of grief has even led the star’s burial spot to be changed due to the number of fans flocking to the site.

Highgate Cemetery, in north London, proved so popular with Wham! fans that its opening hours had to be changed.
Thousands continue to go on tours of the area – months after his death – in the hope of seeing the singer’s grave.
Although the exact spot is hidden from view, it hasn’t stopped vast number of fans turning out.
A spokesman for the cemetery said at the time: “We have had George Michael fans coming to the cemetery, even though we don’t publicise where he is buried.
“Whether that remains the case for the time being or permanently depends entirely on the wishes of his family.”
The star had always intended to be buried next to his mother, buying the burial plot after she died in 1997.
Since his death, dozens of people have opened up about the singer’s extraordinary generosity and anonymous philanthropy.
