‘Vile’! Fadi Fawaz slams claims George Michael attempted suicide in jealous rage
George Michael’s final boyfriend Fadi Fawaz has labelled claims the star attempted suicide as “evil”.
The Lebanese photographer, who found George dead on Christmas Day 2016, took to Twitter to share the allegations, originally posted on gossip site Data Lounge.
Tweets claiming George wanted to die also appeared on Fadi’s own Twitter in the wake of the death.
According to the claims, Fawaz has signed up to write a tell-all book about his Wham! lover.
The user, who remains anonymous, claims the late performer became jealous of Fadi during a luxury getaway.
The post, supposedly based on Fadi’s book, says: “One of the most interesting chapters in the autobiog describes a three week trip that GM and Fadi took to the Maldives in 2009.
“They stayed in four 5* resorts. One night, staying on Conrad Rangali, they were walking across the bridge between the two islands the villas are spread over and they had a huge argument about Fadi supposedly flirting with a waiter.
“GM became suicidal and threw himself off the bridge. The water was deep, but it wasn’t a long drop to the sea.
“GM shouted for help and then swam off into darkness while Fadi ran back to the island yelling for the staff to assist them.”
Fadi hit back at the claims, which he screenshot and posted to his own social media, saying: “This is so crazy. This is evil. Who is ever done this is someone with so much hate inside them that makes me feel sorry for.”

Fadi had previously claimed George was suicidal himself.
In the wake of the star’s death, posts published to his Twitter account claimed: “The only thing George wanted is to DIE. He tried numbers of times to kill himself many times and finally he managed.
“We loved each other very much and were together almost 24 hours a day.”

He later claimed the account had been hacked, telling the Mirror: “I am shocked with what’s going on with the Twitter thing. My Twitter account has been hacked and closed.”
According to the anonymous blogger’s claims, the book is slow in being published because, “Fadi rambles and forgets dates, his English isn’t great. He has three editors helping him and two ghost writers but he still can’t really provide a coherent narrative.”
