One of the most delightful Instagram accounts around shows off a same-sex family – and it has a beautiful message at its heart.
The Instagram account @twogaypapas follows the life of one of the cutest families on earth.
@twogaypapas is run by Bud and Manuel, the parents of four-year-old Álvaro and two-year-old Carmen.
Both children were born by surrogates, and the account originally started as a blog about their surrogacy experience.
Since then, the blog has turned into a heartwarming Instagram account.
It documents the realities of family life with two small children, and is full of wonderful moments.
Speaking to Gay Star News, Bud and Manuel said: “Our Instagram is full of ‘firsts’.
“There are posts about Carmen’s first steps, Álvaro’s first words, Carmen’s first time eating spaghetti, their first pepperoni pizza, their first day at the beach together.”
The parents use their platform to show that same-sex families exist and can be absolutely adorable.
Bud and Manuel describe @twogaydads as “giving visibility to our family to help normalize the same sex parent family model.”
Bud and Manuel state on their website: “We are just like any other family.
“Álvaro and Carmen are growing up happy and healthy, and for them it is normal to have two fathers, just like it is normal for other children to have a mother and a father, or two mothers, or just one father, etc.”
As well as being one of the cutest families around, it’s clear to see that the account is making a difference.

Bud and Manuel said:” We have received many messages from people who had never seen a family with two dads before and then they see us and follow us on social media.
“And they congratulate us and thank us for showing them our children growing up happy even though they aren’t in a traditional type of family.”
Visibility of LGBT+ families is often limited, with many families experiencing negative reactions on social media.
The two dads’ account has over 50,000 followers, and the family frequently partners with charities to promote same-sex marriage and LGBT+ families.
“People who may not know any same-sex parents are able to see first-hand that two men can be great parents,” Bud and Manuel added.
“Our family is just a different type of family that they haven’t seen before.”
As well as the Instagram account, the family runs a delightful YouTube channel where they show off their series of inclusive nursery rhymes.
