This hysterical gay man has gone viral after blagging his way on to a cops reality show
In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes, Andy Warhol once said.
The timeframe may have shrunk somewhat in the internet age, but this hysterical gay man in New Zealand certainly earned his 60 seconds.
The unnamed reveller would do anything to get on TV, and when he saw a bunch of police officers filming for reality show Police Ten 7 (think Cops, but in New Zealand), he did all he could to get on screen.
“What do you reckon, should I pull a bag of meth out?” he yells, running across the road towards the officers.
“I’ve got no meth on me,” he then admits, “but if I hold a bag of sugar out would you put me on TV?”
He then stares down the camera for a moment of fabulousness.
“Hi, hey, hi… are you Police Ten 7?” he asks coyly.
“HI! I’M GETTING ARRESTED FOR DRUGS DRIVING OR SOMETHING.”
The man then introduced himself to the police officers, and made quite the impression.
“What’s this guy… can you arrest me?”
“Police in New Zealand are comfortable with the homosexual population,” he proclaims, almost rubbing himself against the officer.
He then briefly offers to give the cops “a gobbie” (think blowjob, but in New Zealand), before wisely reconsidering and running off.
“I think they’re from Auckland,” the officer deadpans.
The police put the minute-long clip up on the Police Ten 7 Facebook page, and over 885,000 views later, it’s fair to say that the unknown man has got his moment.
The comments section is full of love for the wannabe – and for the cops who sensibly chose to indulge, rather than arrest, the reveller. Not all police are so gay-friendly, after all.
“Never mind putting him on Police Ten 7, the guy needs his own show!” said one.
And we couldn’t agree more.
