RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Violet Chachki filmed men ‘cruising sex’ and posted it online, says furious venue
A French club has accused the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race season seven, Violet Chachki, of lying about why they were removed from their venue.
The Drag Race star claimed to have been “physically dragged” out of Paris sex club Le Depot for “not being masc enough”.
However the club has hit back – saying Chachki filmed other club-goers in the cruising area and posted it online, endangering other men’s privacy.
They also claim the performer threw a tantrum when asked to leave, showing “intolerable aggressiveness towards the security personnel”.
Club bosses say they received a string of complaints against Chachki from other men in the venue who felt their privacy was being disrespected.
The former Drag Race star was repeatedly told to stop filming men in the cruising area, the venue claims, but refused.
Le Depot say they then removed Chachki from the venue for refusing to follow their explicit rules on photography and filming and for being aggressive to staff.
In a statement to PinkNews the venue, which has been running for almost two decades, said: “Violet Chachki was returned to the door of the establishment following unacceptable and inappropriate behaviour and several reports by clients.
“Violet Chachki has posted videos of the Cruising Sex space of the establishment on his Instagram account, among others, even though this is expressly forbidden in the settlement of the establishment and that it had been reminded to him several times.
“At no time has there been any judgment on the gender, physical, skin color, sex or appearance of Violet Chachki who was received within the institution without any
discrimination as the whole the clientele came for a festive event as part of the Fashion Week in Paris.”
They venue added: “Violet also showed an intolerable aggressiveness towards the security personnel who remained courteous despite the insults that you can see on his video or made against the French on his Twitter account.”
Chachki tweeted after the incident: “I was just physically dragged out of le depot in Paris for not being masc presenting enough. I’m in shock and disgusted. fuck the French.”
In a video posted to Periscope, the drag queen is seen arguing with door staff, and eventually asking to have their jacket back after being thrown out.
The performer repeated the allegations to gay dating app Hornet, writing: “It was a fashion week party. At a club that has dark rooms downstairs for sex.
“I was there seeing three friends that were performing/dj. I wasn’t in drag but I had makeup on.
“I met someone there who also had makeup on but was obviously male bodied but very feminine.
“We tried to go downstairs to the sexy part when like 4 guys picked us up and dragged us out of the club.”
PinkNews has contacted a rep for Violet Chachki for comment.
