Twitter appears to have blocked the hashtag #bisexual
Twitter appears to have changed its algorithm to block some uses of the hashtag #bisexual.
Users of the microblogging site vented their frustration that filters appeared to be blocking media, such as images, in posts using the hashtag.
Regular posts are still available but any using the hashtag which contain images don’t appear to show up in search results.
A search using the site for photos using the hashtag #bisexual, at the time of publication, did not show any results.

The Bisexual Index (@bisexualindex) tweeted of the news: “What does deliberate bisexual erasure look like? Click this hashtag and then see how many pictures come up.”
Another user added: “Removing literally every photo someone posted under the hashtag #bisexual erases us even more than we already are and is harmful to us.”
And a third said: “Confirming that if you search #bisexual and click on photos, there is NOTHING there.
“I’m bi. I am a person. My existence isn’t offensive.”
Many others vented their frustration at the move by Twitter, which has historically been supportive of the LGBT+ community.

Hundreds called on Twitter to reverse the decision and reinstate the search results.
A new online tool allows users to browse the internet without having to fill in gender questions in online forms.
The plugin comes from the organisers of Copenhagen Pride, who say that binary gender questions on forms as completely unnecessary and invasive.

Twitter earlier this year unveiled a “gender-neutral” default profile picture in order to be inclusive and reduce trolling.
