Anderson Cooper says his Twitter was hacked after tweet calls Trump ‘pathetic loser’
Out gay CNN host, Anderson Cooper has said his Twitter account was hacked after a tweet was sent to President Donald Trump calling him a “pathetic loser”.
On Wednesday morning President Trump tweeted that adamantly homophobic Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore had fought well in the election.
Trump said that the “deck was stacked against” Moore, who lost in the election.
“The reason I originally endorsed Luther Strange (and his numbers went up mightily), is that I said Roy Moore will not be able to win the General Election. I was right! Roy worked hard but the deck was stacked against him!” Trump added.
In response, Cooper’s Twitter account said: “Oh Really? You endorsed him you tool! Pathetic loser.”
But acting quickly, CNN Communications said that someone had accessed Cooper’s Twitter account.
Cooper also tweeted to say that he “woke up to find out someone gained access” to his account.
“I have not sent a tweet in days or replied to any tweets. We are looking into how this happened,” he added.
A spokesperson for failed Senate candidate Roy Moore said that gay sex should be illegal in an interview on election night.
Moore, a hardline Republican who has faced allegations of child molestation, was the Republican for the special election to the US Senate in Alabama.
Democrat Doug Jones defeated Moore in a surprise upset last night – but not before the Moore campaign made one last parting shot at the LGBT community.
In a 2015 interview Moore himself refused to say whether he supports gay people being put to death.
The candidate formerly served as Alabama’s Chief Justice, but was ejected from the role after abusing his authority in a bid to block gay weddings in the state.
The disgraced justice had issued a string of orders declaring the US Supreme Court ruling on equal marriage “doesn’t apply” in Alabama due to state anti-gay laws, and ordered probate judges to enforce a gay marriage ban.
Moore fumed: “This was a politically motivated effort by radical homosexual and transgender groups to remove me as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court because of outspoken opposition to their immoral agenda.”
It was in fact because of his flagrantly illegal actions.
Moore said: “Because of YOU, tonight, the establishment has been defeated in Alabama!
“We still have a ways to go before December 12th’s general election, and the road certainly doesn’t get easier, but with YOU, the best grassroots army of supporters around, I know we can take on anything together!”
Moore has also praised Russia’s ‘gay propaganda’ law.
