Eric Trump just tweeted a bizarre conspiracy theory about Ellen DeGeneres
President Donald Trump is famous for making outrageous statements about LGBT people.
And now, it seems, his son is following in his bigoted footsteps.
Eric Trump, 33, has chosen to combine this hatred with an alt-right conspiracy theory that there is an invisible “deep state” controlling the government’s movements.
Despite obviously being the creation of ridiculous far-right fantasists like Alex Jones, the theory has taken hold in alt-right circles and permeated the White House.
President Trump attacked what he called the “Deep State Justice Dept” just yesterday, despite having appointed its Attorney General, Jeff Sessions.
And now Eric has done the same – with a twist.
The younger Trump son has accused Twitter of trying to inflict the deep state on him through its recommendations.
These included President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton – who lost the presidential election despite beating his father by three million votes – and Ellen DeGeneres.
“Shocking… once again, here are the @Twitter “suggestions” of who I should follow. #DeepState,” wrote Eric.
That’s right, apparently Ellen is part of the deep state.
She’s controlling the government, according to Eric.
Never mind that she – like Clinton and Obama – holds no political office.
Eric’s seemingly convinced that the talk show host is pulling the authorities’ strings like a puppeteer.
The Trump administration has taken a huge number of steps to attack LGBT equality.
But don’t you worry – Eric says Ellen’s got this all under control.
She certainly holds sway over who appears on her show, telling former Fox News pundit Megyn Kelly last year that she would never invite President Trump on the chat show.
Prominent conspiracy theorist Alex Jones said last week that Star Wars’ creators had made General Hux look like Eric, leading us to associate the President with the evil First Order.
Though this came from the same man who warned about “brain-eating” lesbians, the association seems apt.
