American Horror Story star Sarah Paulson has opened up about her relationship with Holland Taylor
With a reoccurring role in American Horror Story, and a lead in the all female version of Oceans 8, Sarah Paulson is a busy woman. Though not too busy to talk about her relationship with Holland Taylor.
Since its beginning in 2015 Paulson and Taylor have not been shy about sharing their relationship via social media with a selfie or two.
However, when it comes to the press they become less willing to be as open.
Speaking to Town and Country Magazine, Paulson has spoken candidly about her partner and why she doesn’t want to be defined by it.
“I do not want to be defined by who I share my bed, my home, my soul with.
“But I do want to live responsibly and truthfully without hiding.
“It’s complicated, because there is a lot of hate in this world, and a lot of good can come from quote-unquote normalizing something for people who don’t see it as normal.”
Paulson has said in the past that she views sexuality as fluid.
She has admitted to being with both men and women and that she doesn’t want her sexuality to be what defines her.
Taylor has also admitted that most of her relationships have been with women but she has also been with men.
However, it is not their same-sex relationship that makes this couple unusual to some. It is the 31-year age gap between them.
When asked about the relationship Paulson says: “our relationship represents a certain amount of hope and risk. Maybe there’s something brave in it”.
Paulson admitted in December 2017 that in the start of her relationship with Taylor she was told to keep it quiet out of fear that it would damage her career.
Against the advice both Paulson and Taylor have used social media to share their love and earn an impressive following of dedicated fans completely enamoured with the pair.
Despite the obvious love they have for one another it seems like there will be no Paulson/Taylor children running around in the future: “I don’t want to look at my child and say, ‘You’re the most extraordinary thing that ever happened to me, but also the death knell’”.
Ultimately, Paulson says her characters are her children.
She nurtures them and gives herself wholly to whatever person she is portraying. “It’s selfish, but I think the word selfish gets a bad rap.”
But who needs children when you already have a loving relationship? Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor are the ultimate couple goals.
“What else can I say? We love each other,” Paulson added.
