Mark Wahlberg made $1.5 million off the Kevin Spacey scandal
Actor Mark Wahlberg has made millions of dollars off the back of the Kevin Spacey sexual abuse scandal that has rocked Hollywood in recent months.
Wahlberg was set to star in All the Money in the World alongside Spacey, but after the House of Cards actor was exposed as having a history fraught with sexual misconduct he was dropped from the film.
Director Ridley Scott made the costly but smart decision to scrub Spacey, who was to play J. Paul Getty, from the film.
Scott wanted to reshoot in time for awards season, with Christopher Plummer taking over Spacey’s role.
A number of the stars in the film were happy to reshoot without asking for extra money.
Michelle Williams, who stars in the film as Getty’s mother, told USA today that she bent over backwards to make sure Scott completed the re-shoot.
“I said I’d be wherever they needed me, whenever they needed me. And they could have my salary, they could have my holiday, whatever they wanted. Because I appreciated so much that they were making this massive effort,” Williams said.

Williams took just $80 a day away from the 10-day reshoot.
However, co-star Mark Wahlberg negotiated a $1.5 million payout for the reshoot.
The disparity between the pay the two actors took away meant that Williams paid less than one-tenth of 1 percent of Wahlberg.
Wahlberg is believed to be the highest-paid actor of the year, earning $68 million according to Forbes.
Scott has said that the reshoot did cost less than they expected though as a number of actors in the film decided to not take any pay, however it still set the film back by $10 million.
The director explained: “The whole reshoot was — in normal terms was expensive but not as expensive as you think. Because all of them, everyone did it for nothing.
“They all came in free. Christopher [Plummer] had to get paid. But Michelle, no. Me, no.”
Actor Anthony Rapp revealed that Spacey had engaged in sexual misconduct when Rapp was just 14.
The Star Trek actor claimed that Spacey had invited him to a party, and while he was drunk he tried to seduce him.

After he made the accusations, dozens of other people made allegations of sexual misconduct against the former House of Cards star.
A man on the east coast of the US said that Spacey repeatedly had sex with him when he was 14.
20 people at the Old Vic Theatre in London gave personal testimonies of inappropriate behaviour made by the Hollywood star while he was artistic director at the theatre.
The former House of Cards star is currently being investigated by the Metropolitan Police over two allegations of sexual assault.
Many have praised Rapp’s actions as courageous, with the Rent star having been hailed for breaking down a door which had previously been locked.
But Rapp revealed that there was a price to pay for coming forward, speaking up last month about the vile abuse he had received.
Speaking to Attitude, Rapp said that he came forward about Spacey’s alleged sexual advances to make a difference.
“I did it to stand on the shoulders of all that I was witnessing around me,” he said. “I was hopeful that sharing my story would have an impact.”
