Human Ken Doll Rodrigo Alves shocks TV viewers as he turns up with ribs in a jar
Human Ken Doll Rodrigo Alves appeared on a TV show carrying his removed ribs in a jar.
The 34-year-old had four “floating” ribs extracted in a highly dangerous operation two weeks ago.
Showing off his new look to This Morning hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, Rodrigo revealed that he now has a tiny 20-inch waistline.
The cosmetic surgery enthusiast became the first man in the world to have the terrifying operation – admitting he felt like he’d been “run over by a truck” during recovery.
Quizzed on why he went to such extreme lengths, the surgery obsessive explained: “I had four ribs removed so I can do my blazers up without having to breathe in or have them altered.”
He originally wanted to have six ribs removed and spoke with a string of professionals to try and convince them.
But doctors refused to perform the surgery in full, saying the risks are too great, and instead agreed to remove the four “floating ribs”.
He said: “It is dangerous to internal organs. My ribs that were the 11th and 12tth, they are the floating ribs there is not much use for them.”
He added: “I am the only man to have the procedure done. A few women have but they don’t talk about it.”
Viewers were shocked when the Brazilian born social media celebrity then showed off his ribs in a jar.
The hosts suggested he would have been better to spend the money on therapy than cosmetic altercations, but Rodrigo hit back to reveal has had both.
“Well I am 34 years old, it has been a very long journey for me,” he said. “I love the way I look. I love to stand out.
“Yes, there is contentment in my soul. Plastic surgery has changed my life. From water to wine.”
He also admitted to dating three people at the same time.
Rodrigo was left suffering “excruciating pain” after doctors performed the surgery, which had only ever been tried on women before, and has extensive scarring.
Despite having the ribs removed from his body, he couldn’t quite part with the bones altogether.
Speaking to Mail Online he admitted to taking the bones to use in future.
“I will preserve them and keep them stored so if one day I need some cartilage, I will have my own banked already.”
Storing his removed body parts will allow Rodrigo to use them in future if he needs extra gristle for a procedure or reconstruction.
Using cartilage from other parts of the body isn’t uncommon in plastic surgery procedures.
Returning to the LA doctor who performed the surgery, Dr Michael K. Obeng, Rodrigo revealed his half-healed new torso.
He has spent more than a million dollars on 60 surgeries in his quest for perfection.
While the rib removal shocked many – with fans able to watch the procedure live on Instagram – he has vowed to continue with more surgery.
Before boarding a flight to LAX last week, he told The Sun Online: “Once they’ve been removed they’ll be sent off to a cartilage bank.”
Dr Michael K. Obeng, who performed the operation, live streamed the “experience” on Instagram so fans could watch as the Ken Doll’s body was cut open.
A source told The Sun: “He is the only man in the world to have this operation.
“He’s able to stand up or lie down but he’s in excruciating pain. He feels like he’s been run over by a truck and is on very strong medication.”
The clinic later posted: “Our first male #RibRemoval @rodrigoalvesuk the verdict is out if Rodrigo is the first gentleman to have his #ribs removed! Watch our #Live #Feed to #Witness #History!!”
The pricey procedure is intended to give him an “elegant and classic figure”.
