Justin Trudeau called a ‘politically correct plonker’ by Piers Morgan for saying ‘peoplekind’ instead of ‘mankind’
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was applauded at a Q&A this week after stopping a woman to ask her to use the term “peoplekind” instead of “mankind”.
But he has been attacked by outspoken anti-LGBT presenter Piers Morgan who called him a “politically correct plonker” for using the word.
The Prime Minister, who has used his position to promote gender neutrality and equality, was speaking at an event at MacEwan University.

He was asked by a woman to look into issues surrounding volunteering regulations in Canada.
She said her charitable religious organisation had struggled with the regulations.
But she used the word “mankind”, saying: “Maternal love is the love that’s going to change the future of mankind.”
Mr Trudeau responded to say: “We like to say peoplekind, not necessarily mankind.”

The woman responded in good humour, saying: “There we go, exactly,” and Mr Trudeau added: “We can all learn from each other.”
While the audience at the event applauded the Prime Minister for his interjection, some took to social media to mock him, and accuse him of “mansplaining feminism”.
Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan, who has been outspoken on a number of gender and sexuality issues, tweeted: “FFS”.
Morgan, who has been criticised for his views on LGBT issues, also penned a column for the MailOnline, tweeting a link to the article: “No, no, NO, Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau – you will NOT kill off mankind. Shame on you for surrendering to the radical feminist mob. “
In the column, Morgan said Mr Trudeau had “pronounced [mankind] dead”, calling the Prime Minister a “politically correct plonker”.
He also called Mr Trudeau the “Chief PC Plonker … spineless virtue-signalling excuse for a feminist”, going on to criticise Trudeau’s use of the word “peoplekind”, and attacking his reluctance to use the word “mankind”, explaining the word’s origin.
One follower of Morgan tweeted in support of his message, saying: “For once I agree with @piersmorgan. Canada’s PM has less backbone than a wet lettuce.”
The GMB presenter also tweeted in agreement with a follower who wrote: “Piers is a legend. Love him or hate him you know he’s always right!”
Another man tweeted criticising the Canadian PM, saying: “Is Trudeau mansplaining feminism?”
